With this blog post, we want to give people from around the world and from different backgrounds the opportunity to tell their personal stories in times of the Corona pandemic. Today with a story from Mauritius that shows how close joy and suffering can be. Lilian describes the world trip she took with her children and her husband when the Corona pandemic struck. When the outbreak occurred, the family decided to visit the man's stepfather in Mauritius, where they spent three months in lockdown. They had not seen his stepfather for more than 10 years and were now able to spend some very intense time with him. Listen to Lilian's moving but also tragic story:

Why this project?

Because the Corona pandemic has now reached all the countries of the world and is impacting the lives of the majority of the world’s population, we, two students of Cusanus University, are interested in learning about people in other places of the world beyond what the media has covered. The aim is to enter into a socially relevant dialogue at the interface between academic scholarship and society, and to authentically provide different perspectives. With this goal in mind, we want to ask people from different regions of the world to offer their own interpretations, their own narratives of the current situation. The blog posts are displayed in alphabetical order of regions, countries and cities. Note: The information provided here represents the individual opinions and individual experiences of those persons interviewed.
